Art and design students at South Essex College are exhibiting their work to the public in the Southend Campus gallery.

The creative pieces have been produced by UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design students.

The year one exhibition titled Campaign and the year two exhibition called Series and Sequenced are both open to the public this week, between Monday 15 and Thursday 18 December.

Angela Muṅoe, 20, a second year student, based her art work on tube and metro maps. She laser printed designs of underground train maps from London, Oslo, Madrid and Moscow on to mirrors. Angela is originally from Spain and visited London with her family recently, she said: “I found the different shapes in the Tube map really interesting, I wanted to concentrate this piece of work on the unique patterns.”

Sian Randall, 17, also a second year student, made a side projection of a man’s profile from different sculptures complied of rubbish and sea shells. She said: “I wanted this piece to reflect the different marks rubbish and nature leave on the land. I’ve had this idea in my head for ages so it was great to finally bring it to life.”

The Campus Gallery is open during college hours. It’s situated on the first floor of the College’s Southend Campus in Luker Road.
