Engineering students at South Essex College have been getting involved with National Science and Engineering Week by building model electric cars.
The Level 1 Engineering students, who all study at the College’s Southend Campus, had to design, build and test their miniature cars.
Students were supplied with a kit containing parts such as rubber bands, glue and batteries to build their model. An award was given to the fastest car creation.
Bailey Smith and Kieran Garnett were crowned the winners of this engineering challenge. Bailey said: “We won because we came up with a simple design and didn’t overcomplicate things.”
